The Alarm can lay claim to a series of 14 Top 50 singles, seven successful albums and over 5 million sales worldwide where The Alarm's pioneering use of acoustic guitars brought the band into direct contact with the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young and U2, who have all appeared and sung on stage with The Alarm.
The original line-up of the band played it's last show at Brixton Academy in June '91 and ever since then, the bands legacy has been continued alone, by founding member and lead singer Mike Peters.
In 1992, Mike Peters established making The Alarm one of the first bands to have a dedicated Internet website. Between '95 and '96, Mike Peters survived a personal battle with cancer (lymphoma) whilst continuing to tour and release new music throughout. After forming his own record label (21st Century) and successfully negotiating the rights to release The Alarm's back catalogue to huge critical acclaim.
In 2000, Mike Peters and original Alarm bass player Eddie Macdonald decided to go out on the road and play some low key 'Alarm' shows supporting 'Big Country'. The shows were so successful that The Alarm was born again as a live entity (although without Macdonald).
Since then, The Alarm have performed over 70 shows in America and many more throughout Europe where they recently performed to their biggest audiences in over 20 years, playing to 210,000 people over three nights at the San Siro Stadium, Milan and The Olympic Stadium, Rome as guests of Italian superstar 'Ligabue'. The Alarm were also joined on stage (in Manchester, England) by original Alarm guitarist Dave Sharp who also appeared with the band at this year's Gathering. 'In The Poppy Fields', the first recorded music in over ten years to carry the hallmark of The Alarm was released to coincide with the 'In The Poppy Fields Tour 2004'.
