Snapper Music is an independent music and DVD producer based in London.

We control a portfolio of record labels including two front-line imprints releasing new recordings; Peaceville, the long-established metal label and Kscope, featuring post-progressive sounds. These are supported by alternative frontline label Madfish plus catalogue labels such as Recall, Complete Blues, Complete Rock ’n’ Roll, International Artists Records and distribution for Europe of the legendary Charly Records. The majority of the catalogue comprises music CDs but there are also ranges of music DVDs.

The label started in 1996 with an early emphasis on the acquisition of recording catalogues which included those of WASP, Ozric Tentacles and The Pretty Things, and the recording of new material by established artists such as Peter Green. These were later supplemented by recordings from bands such as Porcupine Tree, and Cradle of Filth who would later go on to influence the company to present day. In 2000 the group added two of its key labels, Peaceville Records, with bands such as Opeth, Darkthrone, Katatonia and My Dying Bride, and the link with Charly Records, representing classic acts like Curtis Mayfield, 13th Floor Elevators and Gong. After achieving success with prog rock acts, we launched the Kscope label in 2008 as a home for post-progressive music.

We operate on an international basis with distributors in all major territories and alongside a strong digital presence remain committed to physical product in appealing and innovative packaging. Our success derives from our unique combination of new recordings and strong catalogue activity, a well established international setup and a concentration on a limited number of musical genres notably metal, art rock and blues. In addition to this we benefit from a successful synch licencing business having placed many of our recordings in big Hollywood films including Meet The Fockers, RocknRolla, Yes Man, & Marley & Me plus TV productions such as South Park & The Simpsons.
